How Does It Work?
Children who make decisions for Christ at Beechpoint Christian Camp are given the opportunity to enroll in the “Partners in Discipleship” program. Each child who enrolls has four partners: an accountability partner, a prayer partner, a financial partner, and a church partner. You can read about the responsibilities of each partner on this page.
The child receives a notebook with weekly assignments, and points are awarded for each assignment accomplished. Points may be cashed in for items from a Christian bookstore. Items include Christian CDs, cassettes, books, videos, computer games, activity books and novelties. All of the incentives offered are designed to help the children grow in their faith.
The Accountability Partner
The Accountability Partner meets with the child weekly for approximately an hour. Together the child and accountabilty partner go over the assignments the child has completed. These include memory work, including one or two verses and “Stuff to Know” (like the books of the Bible). Other assignments include church attendance and giving, spending time with a Christian friend, daily devotions and reading Bible stories. There are also questions to discuss each week. Every four to five weeks the accoutability partner and child will do a Christian service project together in addition to their regular routine. Accountability partners will be given training and continuing support. The commitment is for nine months with the opportunity to renew the commitment after a break.
The Prayer Partner
The prayer partner recieves information about the child, including a picture, a profile, and prayer requests. They also receive monthly updates on the child, as well as any special prayer requests submitted by the child or accountability partner in between updates. This partner is asked to pray regularly for the child - an extremely important part of the child’s spiritual development.
The Financial Partner
The financial partner donates $100 to Beechpoint Christian Camp on behalf of the child for one year in the program. As the child earns points and cashes them in for items from the Christian bookstore, the items are paid for from this fund. The financial partner receives a picture and profile of the child as well as monthly updates on the child’s progress.
The Church Partner
The church partner provides a weekly worship/learning experience for the child. Beechpoint Christian Camp requests that the church is aware of the needs of the family and ministers to the family as much as possible. Some children may need transportation to and from church.
