March PRAYER PROMPTER

Pray the Lord of the Harvest will send forth laborers into the harvest…

Lord, help us to approach this mission of reaching children with great urgency!

“I learned how to act like a real Christian.  I also sled down a mountain it was great when I went down the farthest but then I figured out I had to pull the sled back up.  I also ate and slept 3x a day.” – Curtis, age 10

  • Please pray for the staff recruiting efforts for Summer 2012.  Wisdom for Aaron as he considers the many applications to determine who would best-fit this ministry’s need.  Pray for four more male cabin leaders.  Lifeguard trainer needed to teach a course before camp.
  • Thanks for Praying!  The second Winter Blast went very well.  Many made important spiritual decisions and two young people stated that they trusted Christ as their Savior for the first time!  This weekend was aimed at Discipleship.  We even had snow!!!
  • Pray for new incentive scholarships to encourage Good News Club children to attend camp.  Our desire is that Camp becomes part of the GNC culture and that the incentives help to motivate each child to be very active in participating in club.
  • We are very thankful for the all of the gifts and pledges that were made for the Property 2012 project.  $66,000 has been given towards the $75,000 match grant. This grant’s deadline is July 31st.  After the match is met, only $60,000 more will be needed by year-end.
  • Pray for a volunteer builder to help with the inn renovation project.  And please pray for Bob VanDyke as he begins his ministry mentoring and training men.
  • Please pray - Volunteer nurses are needed for the weeks of June 11-15, June 17-22, June 24-30, and July 15-20.
  • Please pray as we are also looking for missionary discipleship/follow-up staff.  In addition to a missionary position, we are seeking more volunteers, coordinators, assistants, and mentors.
  • Please pray for someone to take Sonya’s place (office manager) as she plans to move to Missouri (close to grandchildren) at the end of May.
  • Pray for the health and strength of the Staff and the ability for them to stand strong in the spiritual battle for the Lord and for the children.

Winter is a Blast! – Thank You!!

Winter is a Blast!

Remember what it is like to laugh, scream, and cry-out as you accelerate down a long, steep hill with a couple of friends hugging you through the cushion of coats and gloves? The bite of the cold air and the sting of the driving snow are paled by the rush of excitement that only comes once a year! I know you remember it… and that excitement was frozen on faces as each camper enjoyed Winter Blast 2012!

Thank you for the part that you played to make this experience possible for each camper! Lives were touched and changed! Some children placed their trust in Christ while others learned key ways to Face the Battle by putting on the full armor or God (Eph. 6:10-17). One camper put it this way:

While I was at Camp Beechpoint I learned how to put on the full armor of God and live a Christian life… he (my teacher) let me dress up in the armor and help him in teaching and at the end I won a ball. My cabin also won first place in the Klondike Derby.

Please be blessed by what God is doing in the lives of the campers – through you!

From all of us who are now pleasantly warmed by the fire,

Mark and the Beechpoint Staff

Winter Blast!!!

If your camper isn’t yet signed up for one of this year’s Winter Blast weekend retreats, be sure to get more information and registration forms and get them signed-up!!

Our theme for this year, Arctic Knights Face The Battle, centers on the Armor of God (Ephesians 6) that followers of Christ have been given to resist the attacks of the evil one and live lives that bring glory to God. As always, the weekend will be filled with great winter fun like sledding, broomball, camp fines, night hikes, and winter gaga.  We will also have games and demonstrations revolving around the medieval theme of knights and armor. The atmosphere of camp fun an experiential learning will be a great blessing to every camper who is able to join us!!
