Summer Staff Opportunities

Beechpoint’s staff positions are much like a short term missions project. They require a ten week commitment and are focused on service, relationships, and teaching. If you have less time to offer, we appreciate volunteers to help as craft helpers, cook’s assistants, health officers, cabin buddies, and lifeguards.

Cabin Leader

The heart of our program is the Cabin Leader (CL). You are the ones who develop relationships with the campers which can last a lifetime. It is through your lives that the campers will see the reality of Jesus’ love. You are a role model to the camper, their activity instructor, devotional leader, and a friend. Cabin Leaders must be 18 years of age and enjoy working with kids. Preferably you have had some experience in working with children or in Christian Ministry in the past.

Waterfront Director / Lifeguard

Waterfront directors and lifeguards have the responsibility of ensuring the camper’s safety at the lake. You must have a current Red Cross LG, CPR, and First Aid Certification. Lifeguards must be 18 years of age and the Waterfront Director must be 21 years of age.

Wrangler

Work with our equestrian program in leading trail rides, teaching basic riding and safety, and caring for horses. Overseeing the care and function for the “petting” farm.

Program Coach

Support and train the Cabin Leaders. Typically has had two years experience with our program and is 21 years of age.

Internships

Internships are a great way to help our ministry while fulfilling your internship requirements! Interns are provided with food and lodging and have the option to raise financial missionary support. Our current internships are:

Multimedia - Work with audio and visual media. Put together slideshows and movie shorts, run sound, manage equipment, and complete an advertising project for your portfolio and our use in local newspapers or movie theaters.

Office Administration -  The office makes it all possible! From data entry to public relations, from thank-you notes to QuickBooks, you will be a part of the behind the scene’s management of the camp.

Camp Nurse- Work with an R.N. in daily medication distribution, charting, routine first-aid, first responder responsibilities, and sanitization duties. Commit for a week or all ten weeks!

Schedule and Scholarship

Summer Staff training begins Tuesday, June 1st and the last day of camp for staff is Saturday, August 7th. Summer staff will receive $225.00 per week of camp (8 weeks). Staff have the option of raising “matching support” (up to $225 per week in missionary support). Meals and lodging are provided.

Student Missions Opportunity

This program is ideal for Youth and College Church groups who are looking for a place and people to serve. Your youth group will spend the week living out Christ’s love to our campers and staff though assisting with programs and events, helping with work in the kitchen and around the grounds, and spending time with kids in a cabin group settings.

Testimonies

It was awesome sharing Christ with so many kids! I do admit it was a lot of work, but it was worth it! I’m hoping to be back again next summer!
Sincerely,
Your friend Angel

I had a chance to lead a camper to Christ in my first week at Beechpoint it was after fireside. I could see that the camper was touched by the evening message so after fireside we talked. I could see that he feared peer pressure. After I showed him the way to Christ he decided to pray in privacy during the night. The next night the same camper stayed after fireside and asked me “what do I do if my friends don’t want to hang out with me since I am a Christian?” By helping the camper I found that I am not afraid at school or on the football team. I believe today that being in tune with God helped me through the season. - Sam

Teen Leadership Training

This program is designed to help young people (ages 14 to 18) learn leadership and to give them an entry point into a lifetime of leading and giving through service. The program includes formal training, guided experience, and service opportunities.

The training will include sessions on spiritual leadership, recreational leadership and safety, needs and differences in children, team building (challenge course), and responsibilities of leadership. Each participant will have a service role on the support staff, but will also have opportunities during each day to assist in leading and working with the campers.

The program is limited in enrollment. While each youth will have a great time, it is a time of switching gears to where it is no longer “all about me”… it is “all about others.” The camps senior staff will guide and mentor the young people through the training and the week of practical assignment. If the participant successfully completes the program, they will be considered for an opportunity to return for a week or more in a volunteer junior staff position. It is our desire to help young people become equipped to serve as excellent leaders wherever God may lead them in the future.
